The IGS Turkey Chapter’s ISGPEG 2020 conference has been postponed to next year because of concerns around COVID-19.
Focusing on ‘Innovative Solutions for Geotechnical Problems’, ISGPEG 2020 was due to take place in June at Bogazici University in Istanbul. It was to be held in honor of Professor Erol Güler, recognised for his numerous contributions to the innovative use of geosynthetics in Turkey and around the world.
IGS Turkey Chapter President and conference chair Professor Ayşe Edinçliler thanked everyone involved for their patience but said the significant health and travel implications of hosting the conference in the current circumstances was too great to proceed with safely.
She said: “After careful consideration, the conference will be postponed to next year. The new conference dates and registration details will be further communicated to all authors, invited speakers, exhibitors and participants.
Full papers are under review and will be automatically transferred to the 2021 event. The new dates will be announced later on the conference website.
“We now look forward to welcoming you to Istanbul in happier times in 2021.”
Since the conference has been postponed, new abstracts for next year are welcome, and must be submitted by November 25, 2020. Click here for full details.
