Improve your understanding of interface shear testing at a talk by geosynthetics testing expert Gary T. Torosian.
Mr Torosian will speak on ‘Successfully specifying, performing and interpreting interface shear tests’ at the IGS Technical Committee on Barrier Systems (TC-B) event in September.
As COO of Geocomp Corporation, Mr Torosian brings more than 30 years of experience in laboratory and field testing of soil, rock and geosynthetics. He has authored or co-authored several papers on testing and automation in the laboratory.
He is also the current Chairman of the International ASTM Committee D35 on Geosynthetics. ASTM is an international standards organization that develops technical standards for a wide variety of materials, products and services.
Interface shear testing is a critical performance test used to evaluate the suitability of materials (both geosynthetics and soils) for use in containment structures. Mr Torosian’s presentation will provide an overview for designers, specifiers, testing agencies, and engineers of how to successfully carry out these tests using existing ASTM International standards, with an emphasis on communication between all parties involved.
The webinar takes place on September 23 and is repeated on September 30. Register as follows:
