Applicants now have until the end of the month to help create a vital tool to estimate the sustainability benefits of geosynthetics.
The IGS wants to work with an individual, team or company to build a simple, web-based tool that can crunch the numbers on the sustainability value of using geosynthetics versus more traditional construction methods. For example, carbon saving and construction cost efficiencies.
Proposals that can incorporate data from existing open access databases or other information sources will be welcomed. These should not impact the overall sustainability calculation but offer an additional resource to users. Tenders that were submitted before the previous deadline of September 30 can modify their bids in the light of these updated guidelines if they wish to do so.
Boyd Ramsey, of the IGS Sustainability Committee, said: “The IGS is relentless in its drive to demonstrate and disseminate the sustainability gains of using geosynthetics. We hope this initiative will help sharpen the way our members and stakeholders make the argument, and improve the wider public’s understanding, with tangible, quantitative data on demand. We look forward to receiving your proposals!”
All bids must be submitted by the new deadline of October 31, 2022.
