The many benefits of using geosynthetics in rail applications will be explored at a webinar on February 23, 2021.
Peter Stevens, Applications Development Manager for Terram Geosynthetics, will present ‘Keeping on track with Geosynthetics – an introduction to Geosynthetic rail solutions’ .
Hosted by the UK Chapter of the IGS in association with the ICE NW Geotechnical Group, Mr Stevens will share:

- Rail track bed construction and related problems, solutions and preventative measures
- Laboratory testing results
- Case studies
- Benefits of geosynthetics in rail applications
Mr Stevens is a Civil and Structural Engineer who has worked in the UK construction industry for more than 20 years. He has particular interest in sustainable construction methods and solutions.
He said: “Geosynthetic materials have been the bedrock – literally – for rail infrastructure projects for more than 30 years. They also have a key part to play in cost-effectiveness, durability and sustainability. My webinar aims to explore some of the challenges and solutions, and highlight the incredible benefits of using geosynthetics in rail applications.”
