Geosynthetics for climate resiliency will be the focus for IGS UK’s 22nd Invitational Lecture this month.
Pietro Rimoldi, civil engineering consultant and IGS Italy Council Member, will speak on ‘Geosynthetics for environmental resiliency’, at the in-person and streamed event co-hosted by the British Geotechnical Association on October 11.
His lecture will address issues including:
- Changing climates and their consequences
- The concept of resiliency
- Geosynthetics for environmental resiliency
- Resiliency of cities
- Resiliency of coasts and rivers
- Resiliency of mountains
- Resiliency for drought and saving water
The talk takes place at the Godfrey Mitchell Theatre at the Institution of Civil Engineers, 1 Great George St, Westminster, London, SW1P 3AA. Doors open at 5.30pm for refreshments before the lecture from 6pm-7.30pm UK time. Virtual attendees must register here via the ‘watch broadcast online’ link.
