The IGS continues to drive industry knowledge and education with the creation of a digital library.
A task force has been formed to build an online central database for a range of IGS-related materials that are ideal for reference, general information and research, as well as content that supports individual study and teaching.
The library resources include:
-
- Educational leaflets
- Chapter lectures and webinars
- Journals
- Procedures
- Manuals and reports
- PhD dissertations
- Videos

The IGS Digital Task Force is led by Chair Dr. Jie Han supported by members of the IGS Council including the IGS Communications Chair Sam Allen, IGS Technical Committee Chair Pietro Rimoldi, Prof. Huabei Liu, and President of the Indian Chapter of the IGS Vivek Kapadia.
Mr Allen said: “A key IGS priority is furthering the understanding and use of geosynthetics. We hope the digital library will be an interesting and effective asset for members to explore, use and share.
“If there are resources members are keen to see available in the digital library, get in touch so we can try and incorporate them in our planning.”
The task force met virtually for its first meeting in December, where discussions included the structure of the new online resource, as well as ensuring there was a robust search function so members could easily access the IGS’s rich archives.
