An incredible 5,000 of you are now following us on LinkedIn – that’s an extra 1,000 followers in less than 12 months.
The IGS is dedicated to continually improving its online offering for members, and the wider public, with fresh content, unmissable webinars, announcements and a wide array of education and research resources.
Our rejuvenated website launched last year with more interactive elements including the ability for members to manage their accounts online. We also refreshed the IGS logo to enable more unified messaging across our family of chapters, committees and external branding. The number of virtual and hybrid events have also flourished, helping to spread the word about the IGS and its members more widely than ever before.
Our regular news and articles continue to spread the message about the wide-ranging applications and benefits of using geosynthetics with additional eye-catching assets like the Did You Know…? series emphasising the sustainability credentials of geosynthetics through animation.
With new initiatives in the pipeline including the creation of a Sustainability Benefits Calculator, product case studies showcasing geosynthetics in action, and schemes supporting the next generation of engineers via our Job Shadowing Program, the popularity of the IGS is set to continue.
Sam Allen, IGS President and Communications Chair, said: “We’re here to support our Chapters and members in a wide variety of ways and ensure their activities receive the widest audience possible. We’re delighted we can do this not only using traditional methods but also using online and other media to their fullest extent.
“Our growing follower numbers show the IGS is a trusted source in the industry and a go-to resource for learning, discussion and networking.”
