The deadline for bidding to host the next GeoAsia conference is fast approaching.
The IGS Asian Regional Activities Committee (ARAC) recently invited Asia chapters to submit their bids to host GeoAsia8 in 2025. Launched in 1997, GeoAsia is one of the largest geosynthetics conferences in the area and has previously been held in cities including Bangalore, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Shanghai, Bangkok, and New Delhi.
GeoAsia7 will take place in Taipei, Taiwan, on October 31-November 4, this year, with the theme ‘Hazards risk management, innovation and sustainability’.
ARAC chairman Chiwan Wayne Hsieh said: “Hosting a GeoAsia conference is an ideal opportunity to share local geosynthetics activity and ambitions on a global stage. It is also a unique chance to network, debate and connect with industry players from your region and beyond. The Committee looks forward to receiving applications from Asia chapters and ensuring the conference series continues to champion the activities of our members and widen the access and understanding of geosynthetics in the region.”
Bids must be submitted by June 30, 2022. Guidelines to submit can be found here. The winning chapter will be revealed during the IGS Council meeting at EuroGeo7 in Warsaw, Poland, in September.
