The IGS is delighted that its members will now be able to attend GeoAsia7 without quarantine and we strongly encourage all our members to consider attending this key regional event.
From October 13, new rules for visitors to Taipei mean that you can attend GeoAsia immediately after arrival, with no need to enter quarantine. Visitors will be required to undertake a rapid test for Covid on arrival at the airport. If this is negative, you can take part in events immediately.
You will nonetheless still be required to take certain precautions during the first week of your visit. This is known as the “seven-day self-initiated epidemic prevention” period. During this time, visitors must:
- Stay in a single-occupancy room with exclusive use of a bathroom;
- Test for Covid at least every two days. For this purpose, visitors will receive four rapid tests in arrival at Taipei airport;
- Avoid contact with vulnerable people.
Full details are available from the website of the Central Epidemic Command Center and all visitors are responsible for checking they understand the CECC’s guidance. Please be aware that this guidance may be subject to change.
