The iconic IGS Sustainability eBook has just released its tenth translated version – in Greek.
It joins editions already available in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic, translated from the original English.
The eBook, called ‘Preparing the ground for a brighter future’, was launched to coincide with Earth Day 2020 in April that year. It was based on the Giroud Lecture given by former IGS Vice President Nathalie Touze, called ‘Healing The World: A Geosynthetics Solution’’.
The digital brochure explores the many positive ways geosynthetics can help create a more sustainable world. Providing language-specific versions help widen access and understanding.
Christos Stratakos, Secretary of IGS Greece, said: “This eBook is essential for eliminating misinformation about plastics, especially in geosynthetics. It educates the public and stakeholders on geosynthetics’ true benefits, highlighting their significant positive contributions to society and their role in fostering a more sustainable and resilient planet.
“Translating the eBook into Greek is crucial to ensure wider accessibility and dissemination of valuable information about geosynthetics, fostering greater understanding and promoting sustainable practices within the Greek community.”
