Set the agenda for one of the IGS’s flagship regional conferences by applying to host the 6th Pan-American Conference on Geosynthetics.
Bidding is now open for chapters to host GeoAmericas 2028, next in the four-yearly conference series, bringing together civil engineers from around the world to learn about, discuss and diagnose geosynthetic challenges through debate and discovery.
The GeoAmericas conferences draw global audiences keen to learn more about geosynthetic developments in the region. Hosting is an ideal opportunity for IGS Pan-American Chapters to shine a spotlight on what their area has to offer.
The IGS is looking for Chapters to register their intent to bid by Thursday, February 29, 2024. Full and final bids are not yet required.
Francisco Pizarro, chairman of the IGS Pan-American Regional Activities Committee, said: “We invite all the Chapters to go big and host this wonderful event. GeoAmericas 2028 will be the epicenter of geosynthetics around the globe, where industry leaders and distinguished speakers will gather to share and discuss the latest technologies and state of the art around this wonderful industry. We look forward to hearing from you.”
This year, IGS North America is gearing up to present the 5th GeoAmericas, this time taking place in Toronto, Canada, from April 28 to May 1. Previous host cities have included Rio de Janeiro, Cancun, Lima and Miami.
