Get your burning questions answered by the IGS Officers in a unique Q&A series to mark four decades of the IGS.
This November the Society is hosting a Birthday Week of lectures to celebrate the IGS’s 40 years advancing, championing and raising awareness about the wonder of geosynthetics. Speakers will include trailblazer JP Giroud, as well as some of the industry’s most prominent practitioners giving a global perspective including Jorge Zornberg, Jabulile Msiza, and Fumio Tatsuoka.
As part of this, all IGS Officers will be taking part in daily, live Q&As in ‘Ask the Officer’ sessions. Members can pre-submit questions on whatever issue they wish, but each IGS Officer will also be focusing on a strategic goal as set out in the recently released IGS Strategy Report 2022-2026. This allows members to ask more about or share thoughts on these important aspects for the years ahead.
The ‘Ask the Officer’ sessions, all moderated by IGS Executive Director John Kraus, are as follows (please note timezones):
Monday, November 6
7am Central Time (13:00 UTC): IGS Vice President Edoardo Zannoni, focusing on being ‘Influential’
Tuesday, November 7
8am Central Time (14:00 UTC): Treasurer Jie Han, focusing on being ‘Sustainable’
Wednesday, November 8
12pm CET (11am UTC): IGS Secretary General Laura Carbone, focusing on being ‘Representative’
Thursday, November 9
11am KST (2am UTC): IGS Past President Chungsik Yoo, focusing on being ‘Trusted’
Friday, November 10
8am Central Time: IGS President Sam Allen, ‘ask me anything’
If you would like to ask a question please email IGS Secretary General Elise Oatman at igssec@geosyntheticssociety.org, with ‘Ask the Officer’ in the subject line. Include your question and if you have a preference for the Officer you would like to put it to. The Q&A will be live but all questions must be pre-submitted.
