Bituminous geomembrane has helped protect ecosystems from by-products created by the mining industry.
Our latest sustainability case study showcases how Axter’s Coletanche ES3HFA geomembrane liner used at a coal mining facility in New Zealand ensured any by-products derived from the washing process were prevented from entering waterways and limited the impact on the environment.
The robust materials were particularly appropriate in this scenario because they perform in exposed locations, high wind environments and can safely interact with potentially sharp interfacing materials.
Launched in March, the IGS Sustainability Case Study series highlights how geosynthetics offer a greener solution in construction projects. Available as one-page pdfs, the profiles are easily downloaded and shareable.
Access the latest case study and more on the IGS Sustainability web page here, where you can also find more resources including eBooks, videos, and papers.
