Get the latest on the GRI-GCL3 geosynthetic clay liner specification at a webinar next month.
The IGS Technical Committee on Barrier Systems (TC-B) will host speaker Kent von Maubeuge who will talk on ‘GCL Standard Specification GRI-GCL3: background and development, limitations and latest updates’.
The Geosynthetic Institute’s (GSI) GRI-GCL3 specification covers the manufacturing quality control of geosynthetic clay liners, describing types of tests, the test methods, minimum and sometimes maximum values, and the minimum testing frequencies.
Mr von Maubeuge will share information about the development of the specification, the basis and theory behind each property and value, how it should be used in design specifications, and other updates.
Mr von Maubeuge is a member of the GSI Board of Advisors, chairman of ASTM Subcommittee D35.04-GCLs, and task group leader of ISO 221 WG6/PG9-Designing with Barriers. He is also a member of the Technical Advisory Committee on Geosynthetics at Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) and was chairman of CEN TC189/WG Geosynthetic Barriers, IGS Council member, and Chairman of the IGS TC-B from 2012-2020.
The webinar takes place on March 3 at 7am GMT, 2am EST. To join, please register here. The webinar will be repeated for different time zones. If you cannot attend the main webinar due to the time difference, please register and select the encore session and you will be contacted by TC-B for the details.
The session is the first of a series of monthly webinars planned by the TC-B in 2021, focusing on specific technical aspects of geosynthetics barriers.
