Learn from the world’s most renowned geosynthetics practitioners – virtually – when they give their keynote speeches at GeoAmericas 2020.
Seven leaders in geosynthetic thought and practice will be sharing their ideas during the six-day conference, taking place entirely online between October 26-31. The schedule is as follows:
Monday, October 26, 2pm-3.30pm Márcio Almeida, of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, gives the Welcome Lecture on ‘Brazilian contributions to geosynthetics enginering’.
6pm-7.30pm Richard Brachman, of Queen’s University, Canada, gives the Zornberg Lecture on ‘Lessons learned from physical modelling of geosynthetic systems’.
Tuesday, October 27, 2pm-3.30pm Kerry Rowe, of Queen’s University, Canada, gives the Mercer Lecture on ‘Reinforced embankments on soft soils’.
6pm-7.30pm Denys Parra, of Anddes Consultores, Peru, talks on ‘Geosynthetics in mining’.
Wednesday, October 28, 2pm-3.30pm Dov Leshchinsky, of Delaware University, USA, speaks on ‘Limit state design framework for geosynthetic reinforced walls and slopes’.
Friday, October 30, 2pm-3.30pm Jie Han, of the University of Kansas, USA, talks on ‘Recent advances in design of geosynthetic-stabilized unpaved and paved roads’.
Saturday, October 31, 2pm-3.30pm Barry Christopher presents the Robert Koerner Lecture on ‘Lessons learned: an adventure in four decades of geosynthetics engineering’.
