The IGS’s presence continues to grow online; this week we attracted our 2,000th follower to LinkedIn.
The landmark number was reached shortly after council election results were announced. With so many LinkedIn followers and IGS members now sharing and commenting on IGS content, our society is in a great position to inform and influence the industry’s technical exchange via social media.
Sam Allen, Communications Chair for the IGS, said: “Expanding the global reach of our messaging is one of our key goals, especially as it relates to our ongoing efforts to promote IGS educational opportunities and maximize the important, key IGS messages about geosynthetics performance and sustainability.
“I’d like to encourage members to keep sharing, liking and commenting on IGS content on LinkedIn and our other communications channels.”
The IGS has increased its news output in recent months. Other communications initiatives have included the launch of Chapter Chat, and a new eBook on sustainability.
IGS President Chungsik Yoo said: “Sharing the ideas, initiatives and successes of our members is hugely important to us. I’m delighted to see we’ve broken the 2,000 follower mark.
“I would like to encourage members to send us more of their stories, activities and news so we can share it with the world on our channels.”
