The Netherlands Chapter of the IGS (NGO) had its eighth study day/creative session on a windy but sunny day on Dutch Kijkduin beach on 6 June 2019. The focus this time was on the use of geosynthetics for erosion protection. Three speakers set out the theoretical and practical basis for the study day. More than thirty participants from clients, contractors, engineering firms, suppliers and research institutes conducted tests and devised innovative structures with geosynthetics as protection from erosion caused by rain, waves and currents.
