Top tips for new engineers from a geotechnical engineer with nearly 40 years in the business features in the latest edition of our ‘10 Minutes With…’ series.
Dr. Beth Gross, of Geosyntec Consultants, based in Tallahassee, Florida, USA, shares her advice for those just entering the industry, as well as recounting her experience starting out as the first woman engineer at Geosyntec in 1987.
She also recalls her encounters with industry pioneer J.P. Giroud, and goes on to share her thoughts about new challenges in geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering, and the development of waste management materials and solutions.
Dr. Gross’s interview is the latest in our ‘10 Minutes With…’ video series, a spin-off of our ‘10 Questions With…’ articles offering a deep dive into the working lives of geosynthetics professionals.
Dr. Gross was also a keynote speaker at the 5th GeoAmericas conference in Toronto earlier this year, and spoke about ‘Barrier systems, waste trends and coming challenges’.
